Book Summary

The last few years have witnessed a growing public awareness of the importance of JRF-NET but the vast syllabus of JRF-NET has led to the problem of scarcity of quality books and sample question papers in the market for the students. The first edition of this book was a sincere attempt to fulfill this gap and enable aspirants of JRF-NET (CSIR-UGC) to qualify this competitive exam. The book helped those students who had an ambition to obtain fellowship and who were keen to qualify the exam but due to some or other reason were unable to attend our classes or test series at New Delhi. Successively second and third editions of the book were published that assisted the students to qualify various exams.

This is the latest and fourth edition of the book. In the present book some questions from section A, B and section C in many units have been replaced with new questions keeping in mind the recent trend of questions in the JRF-NET conducted by CSIR-UGC. It has been designed as per the latest syllabus and pattern in a simple and helpful way. For the ease of understanding this book is divided into 14 units which cover the entire syllabus of CSIR-UGG “Life Sciences”. The first unit caters to the section-A pertaining to General Aptitude with emphasis on logical reasoning, analytical and numerical ability, series formation, puzzle etc. The next thirteen units are sub-divided into two sections; Section-B and Section-C. Answers to all the questions for section-B are given whereas answers along with elaborate explanations for section C have been provided. An effort has been made to make the questions relevant and to the point, without any ambiguity and repetition. Few questions are knowledge based while most of the questions are based on the understanding and application of the subject. These higher order thinking skill questions will well equip the student to face them any kind of question with greater confidence and will also help them assess their preparation for the exam. Further this book also caters as a good question bank for other competitive exams at par such as GATE, TIFR, DBT, ICMR, ICAR, IISc., JNU, BHU, DU, etc. Students preparing for Indian Civil Services, Indian Forest service, PCS, etc. would also be benefited
from this book. Also it can be used by teachers and educators.
